New city, new kitty

I have left the lovely temperate climate of the San Francisco Bay Area for suposed greener pastures of the Big Apple. I figured there is only so much you can do in SF for fashion photography so why not throw my self in the mixer of the NY fashion scene. Hell, what is the saying, if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere. We shall see if fortune is smiling on me this year. It is a time of changes and new beginnings for me. A shedding of my old skin for a new revitalized one so to speak. A turning of the page and a new chapter, but enough of cliches, though I could probably ramble on for quite some time in this manner.

So now that I have officially been living in New York for about a fortnight, I thought it time to start up this blog I had had been thinking of for a while. I wanted a place to post images of my travels and my experiences being 1. a new transplant to New York and 2. starting up my photo biz here in the big apple, or to be more specific, beautiful Brooklyn.

I would like to say that I got an amazing deal in an amazing hip neighborhood (Williamsburg) with amazing views and amazing space, but alas I am in Bushwick. It is but just 1 stop away from the outer most regions of Williamsburg. I do have an amazing view from my roof, out my window is the other factory across the street. Across the other street is the New Jersey Sanitation Center (yes, that's right, garbage) so at about 4am a line of dump trucks come rolling past my window and no, amazingly when I saw the unit, there was no mention of noise or of garbage, hmmm. How.... New York. But, other than that , the hallways are pretty, I do have a roof with a view, and a studio with hardwood floors I can shoot in once I get off my arse and order the supplies (note to self, order photo supplies tomorrow). I have meetings with 2 designers scheduled and shoots coming in sooner than I will probably be ready and I am running out of money fast!

So things here are already go go go. Definitely better than my worst fears. But enough for my inaugural post, it is late and I am still dealing with the first present the city had blessed me with, the worst flu I have had in years. So off to bed and dream of photo shoots and garbage trucks.
